RESHUFFLE OF LOCAL POLICE CHIEFS, SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENTS

START OF ANOTHER BLITZKRIEG VS. LOCAL LIBERAL STALWARTS

Liberal local executives today sounded the alarm against the start of another administration blitzkrieg against them – this time, through the sudden replacement of police chiefs and schools division superintendents without their knowledge.

Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza today revealed that the government has replaced Alaminos City police chief P/Supt. Lloyd Ramiscal Milan with P/Supt. Gerardo Roxas, without the Department of Interior and Local Government sending him an official notice.

Braganza said.

Cavite Gov. Ireneo “Ayong” Maliksi is soon to experience the same, as he received reports that Senior Superintendent Alfred S. Corpuz, director of the Cavite Provincial Police Office, will soon be replaced by another police officer, without him being consulted first about such rigodon.

“Under local government laws, local executives should first be given a shortlist of five possible replacements before the PNP changes its local guard. This has been disregarded,” Maliksi said.

Meanwhile, Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo received reports that Naga City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Caridad C. Labe will also be replaced.

“I am appalled I have not been consulted nor even formally informed about this. DepEd will have to explain the grounds why she is being replaced and the process they have undertaken. As far as I am concerned, they did not follow the proper protocols,” Robredo said, noting that Provincial and city schools division superintendents will head the Board of Election Inspectors in their jurisdictions come election day.

Robredo, a Ramon Magsaysay Awardee, noted that other Liberal stalwarts in the local arena have been subjected to an earlier blitzkrieg operation. The Commission on Elections 2nd Division belatedly decided on sham recount cases against Bulacan Gov. Joselito Mendoza and Isabela Gov. Grace Padaca.

Pampanga Gov. Ed Panlilio is expecting a similar decision on a recount case filed by Lilia Pineda. Meanwhile, Robredo is also on his toes on a possible decision against him on a sham disqualification case filed against him questioning his citizenship.
