CONGRESSMAN Antonio “Tony” Andrada Del Rosario is the 14th person to sit in the House of Representatives for the first District of Capiz since the first Philippine Assembly of 1907. He thus holds the distinction of being the “Centennial Congressman” of his district that covers Roxas City and the six eastern towns of Panay.

Born and bred in Capiz, he started his political career in 1972 as barangay captain of Barangay Dayao in Roxas City. He served until 1979, after which he was elected and even reelected successively with full terms as city councilor from 1980 to 1986; vice mayor from 1986 to 1998; and eventually mayor of Roxas City from 1998 to 2007. On his 35th year today of continuous leadership and service to his fellow Capizeños, they rightfully awarded him with a seat in the 14th Congress.

A seasoned and veteran local government official, Del Rosario brings to Congress the wisdom and experience learned from 35 years of local legislation and administration in his constituency, both in the barangay and city levels. As a representative, he knows the kind of legislation he will have to work on in the 14th Congress, one that directly benefits the various sectors of the First District of Capiz.

Congressman “Tonydel” as he is referred to in Capiz, is married to the former Suzette Atienza with whom he has five children namely: Michelle, Suzanne, Letlet, Marco and Pepe.
