Mayor Paulino
Salvador Leachon
Galapan City, Oriental Mindoro
LAWYER Paulino Salvador Leachon is the
newly elected Mayor of Calapan City in
Oriental Mindoro. He served as city
administrator from August 2005 to March
2007. Leachon placed 17th in the bar
examinations of 1999. He was a product of
San Beda College, having graduated with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 1994 and
Bachelor of Laws in 1999 with honors. In high
school, he was a leadership awardee for
pioneering and for serving as president of the
first High School Student Council of the
Divine Word College in 1990.
Mayor Leachon started with humble
beginnings in life, having worked as a member
of the service crew of the Jollibee fastfood
branch in Retiro, Quezon City. He was also a
taxi driver in 1994. Out of sheer luck and
perseverance, he was later named branch
manager of Greenwich Foods Corporation in
1995, He later moved up to be a legal
researcher at the Supreme Court, the Senate
Electoral Tribunal and the Congress electoral
Tribunal from 1996 to 1999. He also worked
as a legal consultant at the Office of the
President and as liaison officer and City Legal
Officer of Calapan.
Mayor Leachon Doy Leachon is involved
in various socio-civic organizations. He heads
the Rotary Club of Calapan, the Mindoro
Tamaraw Basketball Association and the
Integrated Bar of the Philippines Mindoro
Chapter. He is also an active member of the
Couples for Christ, Marriage Encounter,
Guardians Brotherhood Incorporated and the
Knights of Columbus. A native of Puting
Tubig, Calapan, he is the son of Judge Emilio
L. Leachon, Jr. and Pilar Mendoza Cueto. He
is married to Ronalee Leachon and they were
blessed with two children, Reimund Paulo and
Clairdey Beatrice. |
