REELECTED Congressman. Hermilando I. Mandanas was a political neophyte when he won as the provincial governor of Batangas. During his term, he proved his worth as the province’s chief executive when he attracted P40 billion worth of business and livelihood investments for his province. He was cited by the University of Asia and the Pacific for his outstanding performance in reducing unemployment, having been able to create more than 20,000 jobs during his term as governor.

Known as Congressman Dodo, he came from a poor family in Aplaya, Bauan, Batangas. He is a member of Opus Dei of the Roman Catholic Church. He his known for his honesty and dedication to hard work as well as his advocacy for the empowerment of the local governments.
In 2000, he was the recipient of the Rafael M. Salas Population and Development Award for outstanding public service.

Dubbed as Mr. Clean, Mandanas served the Province of Batangas for three consecutive terms (1995-2004) as governor and had been distinguished as the “Most Outstanding Governor” by numerous civic and government organizations among which are the Senate of
the Philippines, Consumer Union of the Philippines, National Social Welfare and Development, PNP Maritime, TESDA and Leader Magazine.
