GOVERNOR Vic Arancillo
Tanco hails from the town of
Dumarao in the Second
Congressional District of Capiz
and served as four-term mayor
for 18 years from 1980 to 1998.
Previous to this, he had been elected
councilor in 1971 ranking number one, that
to date sums up 36 years of public service in
Capiz. Educated at the University of the
Philippines in Diliman with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Public Administration, he
is well heeled in local government
administration.
Since the institution more than a century
ago of civil government by the Americans of
in Capiz on April 11, 1901, he became the 20th
governor of the province, running unopposed last May 14, 2007. He had served as vice
governor under then Governor Bermejo for
nine years since 1998.
In steering his province, comprised of
Roxas City and 16 municipalities for the next
three years, Tanco’s experience as municipal
mayor and presiding officer of the
Sangguniang Panlalawigan will be put to good
use. Very approachable with his trademark
smile, Governor Vic knows the needs of the
towns of Capiz. Governor Tanco is married to
the former Fatima Lademora with whom he
has 4 children namely: Victor, Jr., Faith,
Vladimir and Hope. |
